Product Enhancements and New Features

Instant Poll has been a popular tool within the omNovia Web Conference for years. Polls make your webinars more interactive and more engaging leading to more effective sessions. The new Instant Poll adds the ability to poll your attendees with multiple choice questions and allows up to eight answers. Also note the Instant Poll reporting (in the Admin Page) has been upgraded with now the ability to download results in Excel format (csv). To allow further integration, the report API enables automated download of Instant Poll results to your own databases or CRM system.

When starting the eCurtain, It is now possible to optionally select the mp3 audio file to play, from the Music Player list. eCurtain is a useful tool for webinars, which allows moderators to hide the stage at the beginning of a webinar or during breaks while presenters prepare. It is available in the “Tools” menu inside your room.

If you set your room to have a split tab view (feature can be enabled in Admin Page -> Room Settings) with a Left and Right tab, a divider between the two tabs allows to resize the right tab. If a moderator resizes the tab, it now also automatically resizes for attendees. The resizing used to be local only and not affect viewers.

The “Invite” feature within the “Tools” menu in the room has been updated to allow invitation for guest presenters. Invited people will receive an email with a link and can join your room with one click only.

The new Recording Service is an option to be added to your omNovia Web Conference account, which allows you to schedule an automated recording of a Recast into a flat file mp4 format. The recorded movie can then be downloaded and placed on your web site or archived on a disk. Smart phones such as iPhone can also play the mp4 movie. The new Recording Service (still in beta version) brings more flexibility to the Recast solution. Contact your account manager to add the feature to your account.

Full Screen mode in Application Sharing and Slide Show

The “Manage Recorded Sessions” section of the admin page has been rendered more user-friendly and easier to use.

The Slide Show module now supports 16:9 MS PowerPoint formats.
